I’m Nigel Walker, the proud owner of Nigel Walker and Associates Inc. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

My path to interior design began with achieving my dream of being an auto mechanic. However, I soon realized this was not my calling which saw me bounce around other businesses before deciding to go back to college.

In college, I enrolled in drafting courses and architecture and structural design, went on to work for a hotel in design and management, and eventually moved to a leading interior design firm. After gaining five years of valuable experience, the firm closed as the owner retired. This led to the establishment of Nigel Walker and Associates Inc. in September 1992.

Fast forward to today, I’ve been in the interior design industry for thirty-one years. I still specialize in hospitality design, specifically bars, restaurants, bistros, nightclubs, hotels, and resorts. We have migrated in and out of transport design with projects varying from tourist and corporate trains, super yachts, limousines, and a few jets. In short, there is never a dull moment.

The most rewarding parts of my day-to-day life include the design aspect, interactions with clients, and their reactions to the final built design. They are always surprised at how the final product is better than expected. You could say, “We are making the world a prettier place, one project at a time.”

My philosophy is to be truthful, work hard, do what you say and say what you do, and never look back negatively.

Why I’ve Been Successful

As an individual, my honesty and integrity set me apart from most other design offerings. I attribute my success to leveraging my rock-solid client base and delivering quality interiors and hospitality concepts at the promised price point. Additionally, my clients are amazed at how accessible I am.

Recently we had a client who owned a railroad company. The project included a complete train engine and five custom cars and needed to be completed in ten months. We met with the client, understood his vision, and delivered a high-quality product as promised. The train is now used as a promotional tool during special occasions and for seasonal sightseeing and static tours.

During my downtime

When I am not at work, I like to tinker, building things. I enjoy all cars, classic cars and racing cars of all vintages. Carpentry, hiking, kayaking, and fishing are also some of my hobbies. I also believe in giving back to society, and as my family has been affected by Alzheimer’s and Cancer, we tend to channel our financial donations to those causes. In the past, I have also been on the board that dealt with educating and housing children in Uganda.

If you or someone you know could benefit from my interior design expertise, I invite you to get in touch. We have the expertise to design commercial spaces of all shapes and sizes. Please feel free to call me at (604) 986-9759 or email me at nigelw@axion.net.

Sincerely,

Nigel
